Creating Artwork for Print

How to make sure your printing looks professional when creating artwork for print

There are important guidelines to follow, to ensure your artwork looks as professional as possible.  You should:

• Ensure that your print-ready PDFs have a 3mm bleed area around the border of each page.

• Supply fonts and images that are embedded or converted to PDF. Outline images must be supplied as CMYK and embedded with the PDF.  We do not accept artwork in Microsoft Word/ Microsoft Publisher or other non-supported applications.

• Supply artwork for publications that have multiple pages on single pages and not printer spares. You may save your cover section separately, if you desire.

• Supply artwork as plates marked as “spot UV” if going to the spot you read or if there are any additional finishing requirements such as gold foil blocking.

Please note: If you supply artwork in supported applications such as: quarkxpress; Adobe InDesign; Adobe illustrator or Photoshop, we may charge you an additional setup fee.  It is much easier if you supply copy in print ready PDF.  It is also chargeable if you require changes to your artwork after we have produced a proof
